Phobia

A phobia is a debilitating fear of a specific thing, place, scenario, feeling, or animal. Fears are less severe than phobias. They emerge when a person perceives a situation or object to be dangerous in an exaggerated or unrealistic way. When a phobia gets severe, a person’s life may be organised around avoiding the source of their worry. It can limit their daily activities and create a great deal of distress.

Counselling can be a highly effective and successful method of treating phobias. Cognitive behavioural techniques, in particular, have had spectacular success in reducing the intense and disabling fear associated with phobias. Working through your fear in a structured and individualised manner I will help you to understand and manage panic attack and start a life free of fear.
